BBQ Sauce Recipe – Sweet, Savory, & Simple BBQ Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup xylitol syrup (ingredients and instructions below)
  • 8 oz organic tomato sauce or tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp liquid aminos or tamari
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • filtered water (to sauce consistency)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Make the xylitol syrup first. Combine 1 cup xylitol and ½ cup water in a stainless steel pot. Bring mixture to a boil. Whisk in ¼ teaspoon xanthan gum and return to a boil Stir until thickened and remove from heat and cool. Measure out about ½ cup and save the remainder for another use.
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
  • Add ⅛ – ¼ cup of filtered water to get the sauce to the desired consistency.
  • Use over chicken or other recipes as a sauce.
